YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Titans vs. Saints By Andrea de Vera OnlineTickets.com
In the Week 3 edition of Monday Night Football, the New Orleans Saints hosted the Tennessee Titans inside the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Who Came, Saw, and Conquered: Titans topped the Saints, 31-14. As the Titans improved to 2-1 on the season, the 0-3 Saints and their fans are growing restless in the Big Easy.
Lookin’ Good: QB Vince Young
After amassing 164 yards through the air on 14-of-22 attempts, Vince Young proved that he has more weapons in his offensive arsenal than just his cleats. In an efficient performance, Young threw for two touchdown passes – a 35-yard strike to Brandon Jones and a three-yard pass to Bo Scaife for good measure. Young’s 21 rushing yards on the day didn’t hurt, either.
Seen Better Days: Saints’ running game
Although Reggie Bush scored both of the Saints’ touchdowns from one yard out, Bush tallied a total of 15 rushing yards on seven attempts. Bush didn’t get much help from the Saints’ second running back, Deuce McAllister, who went out with a first-half knee injury.
Keep an Eye On: The Titans’ receiving corps
While Vince Young is the most recognizable name on the Titans’ roster, 3rd-year wide outs Brandon Jones and Roydell Williams and 12th-year veteran receiver Eric Moulds are just a few of the Titans receivers looking to make a name for themselves as reliable targets for Vince Young as the season rolls on.
Week 4 Watch: Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Rams
With the Titans and Saints heading into the bye, watch out for the winless and RB Steven Jackson-less St. Louis Rams taking on the undefeated Dallas Cowboys inside Texas Stadium in Week 4 action. The Rams will have to muster up some offense or tighten up on defense (the Rams rank 29th in the league in points allowed) if they want to avoid dropping to 0-4 while facing an explosive ‘Boys team off to its best start since 1999.
