Indie rockers and friends – White Stripes singer/guitarist Jack White, singer/songwriter Brendan Benson, bassist Jack Lawrence, and drummer Patrick Keeler – joined forces under the name The Raconteurs – a quartet of musicians that formed after White and Benson wrote the song “Steady, as She Goes” together. Since forming in 2005, The Raconteurs have treated audiences to electrifying live performances.
The Raconteurs’ debut album Broken Boy Soldiers put this indie rock band on the map thanks to the lead off single, “Steady as She Goes.” Because of the popularity of The Raconteurs’ members, the band’s first tour was able to sellout venues that most bands could not do on their first tour. The tour lasted through all of 2006, with The Raconteurs opening for the legendary Bob Dylan. Broken Boy Soldiers and “Steady as She Goes” also snagged The Raconteurs a couple of Grammy nominations to boot.
The Raconteurs’ second record Consolers of the Lonely dropped in 2008, packing a variety of music in its 14 tracks with “Salute Your Solution” being the first single. The Raconteurs will be on tour this spring and summer, with tour dates all around the US.
