During the 2007-08 NBA season, the New York Knicks fell on hard times, suffering a bout of injuries en route to a lackluster 23-59 regular-season record.
During the 2008-09 NBA season, the New York Knicks added new blood to their line up, starting at the head coach position. Best known for his run-and-gun offensive style with the Phoenix Suns, Mike D’Antoni takes over the coaching reins. With Stephon Marbury’s future with the team up in the air, D’Antoni will count on Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph, Nate Robinson, and David Lee to produce on offense.
The New York Knicks roster is stippled with up-and-coming stars to boot, including the No. 6 overall draft pick Danilo Gallinari, rookie Patrick Ewing, Jr., and former Chicago Bull Chris Duhon. Former Knicks sharp shooter Allan Houston rejoins the Knicks this season as a free agent and is sure to provide veteran leadership and a strong locker-room presence to the team.
