Fame, affection, adoration are all things Roxie Hart wants out of life. With a desire to become a famous cabaret singer, Roxie often gets herself into boiling hot water. After discovering that her boyfriend is not all he is cracked up to be, Roxie kills him. Roxie tries anything to get away with murder, even asking her good-hearted husband to take the blame.
Velma Kelley is a cabaret singer until she catches her sister and husband in a scandalous position. With seemingly no other choice, Velma kills both of them. In prison, Velma Kelley hires the in-demand Billy Flynn as her lawyer. When Roxie and Velma get locked up in the same prison, things get sticky for both of these murderesses as they compete for the spotlight and headlines in Chicago.
