Denver is most famous for the rock mountain national park and other parks. The Rocky Mountains surrounding Denver was where the gold was found in 1859. This brought in the first settlers. It is also famous for its weather; with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. It is a mile above sea level and surrounded by mountainous terrains. It is referred to as one of the fittest cities in the United States because of its numerous parks for hiking.
Infinity Park: With a 5,000 capacity, the Infinity Park was opened in 2007as arugby stadium. It was the first rugby stadium owned by the city of Denver and the US at large. From 2007 till date, it has been a host to many national and international rugby tournaments. It is home to Glendale Raptors Men’s team, Glendale raptors Women’s team and the U-19 men Glendale Raptors team.
Coors field: Possessing a 50,445 seating capacity and a 51,267 standing capacity, it was opened in 1995.It is a baseball stadium, home to Colorado Rockies baseball team. The seats are exactly one mile above sea level. As a result, the 20t row of the upper deck is purple.
Pepsi Centre: The Pepsi is known for its multifunctional arena. It has a capacity of 18,007 for the National Hockey League teams and the National Lacrosse league team. Also has a 19,155 capacity arena for the National Basketball Association team. It was opened in 1999 and is also known as “The can.” The Pepsi centre is owned by Kroenke Sports Enterprises and is used by the Denver nuggets for basketball, the Colorado avalanche for hockey and the Colorado Mammoth for Lacrosse.
It is famous for hosting the Stanley cup finals, the NBA’s western conference championship, the NLL’s western division finals and the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
Mile high stadium: It has a seating capacity of 76,125 and was opened in 2001. It is home to NFL’s Denver Broncos. Mile high stadium is situated in the rocky mountain region and plays most of its games on Sundays. It was used for Obama’s acceptance speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and is also used for major rock concerts in the city.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Park: With a capacity of 18,086, the Sporting Goods Park opened in 2007. It was built by Kroenke Sports Enterprises to accommodate the MLS Colorado Rapids.
